20241121 - discussion - Ample evidence of Israel using food as weapon of war

Neve Gordon, a Professor of International Law at Queen Mary University of London, discusses accusations of Israel using food as a weapon of war. He addresses the historical context, evaluates the evidence under international law, and considers the legal defenses put forward by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, Robbie Sabel, a Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and former Legal Adviser to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, also joins from West Jerusalem. He provides a contrasting perspective, analyzing Israel’s legal stance and responding to allegations of imposing a strict blockade on Gaza during the conflict.

Comment :

Neve Gordon also talks about the Israeli calorie tactics but mentioned the 1990s while we found the first calorie scheme in 2010, and the second calorie scheme in 2012. Both documents were from the Israeli army unit COGAT.

Comment on Sabel's narrative, that Israel is under attack.

In Gaza, people have been under Israeli suppressive rule two times. The first time was during the colonization from 1956 to 2005. Two years later under blockade as a revenge after Hamas won the only held election in 2006.  Then, the Israelis never lifted their self-declared war since 1967. That is why Netanyahu's war declaration from October 7, 2023 is ill-conceived.
