The Israelis have been viewing the United Nations as an enemy for at least a decade, because many treaties in international law are a stumbling block to achieving the goal of establishing a full Jewish state instead of an Israeli and a Palestinian state.

The biggest stumbling block is UNRWA, as it has the mandate to register all Palestinians as refugees for generations to come, and even those who weren't registered before 1949, when the UN body was founded. The mandate prevents the Israelis from taking the whole of the occupied territories as theirs.

The few out of ten Palestinians suspected of aligning with Hamas was an opportunity the Israelis began to exploit to conflate UNRWA with Hamas, as they do with everyone and everything that moves and does not move in Gaza.

Cutting funds to UNRWA is by Israeli and American falsehood and ignorance around the globe, by not realizing that suspending countries resort to collective punishment.
