Zionism is a nationalist ideology, not a movement, that emerged in the late 19th century, advocating for the establishment and support of a "Jewish homeland" in Palestine, the "Land of Israel," falsely claimed as rooted in the Jewish people's connection to that land. It seeks "Jewish" self-determination.
The term comes from "Zion," the name of a hill, not a name for Jerusalem, once inhabited by the Jebusites. King David destroyed the habitat and resorted to bloodshed, prompting God to forbid the king to give Him a home. The city was built by his son, King Solomon, so the Old Testament story goes.
Israeli Zionism is the merging of distractive politics, selective and manipulated history, religionization, and imagination, which we call 'Zionization.' It merely refers to:
- Blasphemy, which refers to impious utterance or action towards other religions, in particular Islam, essentially active disrespect by words or physical actions (which is called sacrilege).
- Revisionist history with a negative connotation, which is deliberate distortion or denial of historical facts, which can be applied to the manipulation of religious history or texts.
- False or forged dishonest statements.
