Information war, or infowar, is the battle space for the use and management of information and communication technology (ICT) in pursuit of a competitive advantage over an opponent. Information warfare is the manipulation of information trusted by a target without the target's awareness, so that the target will make decisions against their own interests in favor of the one conducting information warfare. 

However, this kind of war has a political version nowadays, particularly by the Israelis, which is called hasbara, and the Americans, who have their own version of hasbara. The contextual roots of these practices lie in the following:

In 1898, the United States became the first country in the world to become a Zionist country after an American "Jew" returned from the first Zionist Congress held in Basel, Switzerland, where Theodor Herzl introduced his ideology, which the world knows as Zionism. The Americans were also the first to recognize the forcible renaming of British Mandatory Palestine after European Zionist invaders seized the territory from the British in May 1948. In 1954, a Canadian "Jew", who initially was sent by the Israelis to defend the Deir Yassin massacre, founded the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs, which in 1959 became the "American Israel" Public Affairs Committee or AIPAC.
