(Israeli) Infowar 2023 / December |
|
Israeli infowars are similar to Russia's infowars as both are using troll farms. However, those of the Israelis are army units. It's actually like China The IOF Spokesperson's Unit (Hebrew: דובר צה"ל, Dover Tzahal, abbr. Dotz) is a unit in the IOF Operations Directorate, responsible for information policy and media relations. The unit is led by the IOF spokesperson, a brigadier general and member of the General Staff, and by a deputy spokesperson, a colonel. Since August 2024 the spokesperson is Brig. Gen. Daniel Hagari. The unit is also a key player in the public diplomacy efforts (hasbara) of the Israelis The 2015 IDF military doctrine highlights the strategic importance of using the power of the media; economic, legal, media, and political aspects are considered as part of the military approach as much as military combat. It is this unit that refuses journalists to report from Gaza as allowing would undermine the practice of hasbara. |
What is hasbara? The most known explanation is the following: "You may lie if it is to defend yourself" "If you are accused, blame the victim." |
