PARTITIONING GAZA
The Morag separation line is located in southern Gaza, which physically separates Rafah from Khan Yunis and the rest of the enclave. It was constructed in April 2025 and runs from the land border in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. The separation line, which is about 12 kilometers long and at least 300 meters wide, is a key part of the war belligerent's illegal strategy in Gaza.
The term for attempts to seize land without an official declaration is called de facto annexation. It has been taking place for years in the West Bank, and all Israeli tactics in Gaza carry a similar character. However, in Gaza, it is about partitioning the enclave. Using any means with the intention of partitioning the land is forbidden by international law, even when it is in self-defense, which the Israelis call "for security".
