"October 7th didn't happen in a vacuum," UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres

What was he referring to?
On June 5, 1967, the Israelis attacked Egypt not only in the Sinai desert but also drove Egyptian troops out of Gaza after the then-president Nasser banned all shipments bound for Eilat from using the Strait of Tiran, a waterway within the territorial waters of Egypt.
Levy Eshkol, who was then the Israeli prime minister, issued a declaration of war, which has still not been lifted against Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. It was the beginning of an Israeli colonization of nearly 40 years, not occupation, because they built 21 permanent colonies.
In 1987, an Israeli colonist-truck driver rammed a car with four Palestinians from Jabaliya, Northern Gaza, inside. All of them were killed. It's not the truck ramming but how the armed colonizing war belligerent handled the aftermath of the ramming. They let the driver go free, which ignited widespread anger among the colonized people. The anger turned into the first Palestinian uprising, which we know as the First Intifada.
The Israeli colonizers launched a bloody crackdown. That prompted colonized people to form armed groups to resist colonization, which is a right enshrined in UNGA resolutions and the Protocols of the Geneva Conventions. We all know these groups of resistance as Hamas.
After a 'freedom' of just two years, the Israelis and Egypt imposed a sea, air, and land blockade in 2007, while Gaza remained occupied, as it is part of the so-called Occupied Palestinian Territories, the State of Palestine.
Our documentation on Netanyahu's trial over his bribery, corruption, and breach of trust, the fact that he knew at least for a year that Hamas was planning "something," and the tricks he uses to prolong his war in Gaza, proves that he brought October 7th not just to himself but to all Israelis.
