Forced eviction and forced displacement, while related, refer to different scenarios of involuntary relocation.

Forced eviction specifically refers to the removal of people from their homes or private land against their will, often without due process or adequate compensation.Forced displacement, a broader term, encompasses the broader movement of people away from their habitual residences, which can include evictions but also other situations like fleeing conflict.

In Gaza, forced displacement encompasses the removal of (selected) large number of people (at once) from their neighborhoods, entire cities if not a whole regional area (i.e. north, central, south Gaza), which include evictions. These forced removals often go along with attacks while people are going or already on their way. In many cases, people even face attacks at places where they have arrived. It is then called dystopian terrorism by the Israeli military.

If people are no longer allowed to return to their homes they were forced to leave, it is then ethnic cleansing.
