However, the idea to establish the GHF is not American but Israeli. It was invented in February 2025, the same month when the Israeli military leaders saw their 'starve or surrender' strategy in tatters, which was carried out with the extreme destructive Dahiya doctrine. The doctrine dates from 2006 when the Israelis bombed Beirut's Dahiya neighborhood into ruins. This doctrine was used on Jabaliya in Northern Gaza. A few months later, the doctrine was used on Rafah and Khan Younis.

The 'starve or surrender' strategy was an idea from the Israeli retired General Giora Eiland. The strategy didn't work because the people refused to leave Northern Gaza after repeatedly being uprooted. The Israelis had to find another idea to get the Palestinians out of the north. So they came to the idea of setting up "aid points.": in the south of Gaza to lure the people in the north to the "aid points" in the south. This is why the GHF was invented and later became death traps for aid seekers, which we view as extrajudicial killings.
